ITSPA had a stand and also ran two sessions at the event on Fraud and Regulatory

Session no. 1 Telephony fraud: ITSPA explored the latest trends

With fraud continuing to be a key issue for both Service Providers and their customers, this session: explored the latest trends being experienced by industry, provided advice on how to detect and tackle frauds and gave an update on ITSPA’s latest work in this area.

  1. Introduction to recent fraud trends and ITSPA’s work in the area – David Cargill – Technical Director, Vonage
  2. 'Anatomy of a VoIP fraud' – Colin Duffy – CEO, Voipfone
  3. A perspective on ID fraud (weddingvenuegate) – Pete Farmer - Head of Regulatory Affairs, Gamma

Session no.2 The General Data Protection Regulation: How to prepare

With the GDPR due to enter into force next year, all businesses – particularly those in the next generation communications space – need to plan and prepare for its introduction. This session explored the steps service providers should take to comply with the legislation.

Mark Taylor, Partner at Osborne Clarke, will be the speaker for this session.
